Client
Top Lines is a company, active in International Passenger Transportation, operating the regular bus route Greece – Albania. It consists of two companies, Artur Bibe SA. based in Athens and Electrodinamik SH.P.K, which is based in Tirana. It has 19 ticket agencies in cities within Greece and Albania, and additional 78 points of sale in partner agencies, while its fleet of buses and vans consists of a total of 36 vehicles. Top Lines also has two subsidiary companies, Top Post EPE and Top Post AL, which are active in the transportation of parcels between Greece and Albania.
Objective
The goal is to gain complete and accurate control of its network, an action that will bring multiple benefits to functionality, revenue and customer service.
Challenge
The above 4 individual companies, despite using the same fleet and the same agencies for their operations, operated until 2021, each with its own electronic system, without any interconnection between them. As a result, the two-way communication and all the necessary data crossing of the systems should only be possible with the intervention of the human factor. The challenge for our company was the integration of all the above systems, through the construction of a new integrated information system for issuing tickets, parcel management and computerization, with the possibility of having separate functions for each company such as separate cashiers and administrators, individual functions, etc.
Solution
In order to achieve the objectives of the above section, the creation of a unified cloud system was advanced, the architecture of which was based on the user-server model. The system was designed following the trends of modern design in order to create an easy-to-use and functional management environment, it was developed based on the techniques of Responsive Web Design and mobile first web design and was implemented on the popular PHP Framework Laravel, one of the leading solutions for development of demanding cloud systems. It is fully in line with the specifications set by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and is fully customizable and expandable so that it can meet the company’s future needs. Individual technologies used Java, SQL, Redis, Digital Ocean.

The online seat reservation and passenger ticketing system that we created was for Top Lines a tool to increase its turnover and at the same time an additional service provided to facilitate the purchasing public. It allows users to book and issue their ticket, any day and time of the week and from any place, using their computer or mobile phone. The above process, from its beginning to its completion, i.e. the payment of the price and the issuance of the ticket, takes place in a secure environment with speed and reliability.
