Spoon, from the first moment it opened its doors to the public of Thessaloniki in August 2012, made a delicious feast of choices a reality: salads, snacks, sandwiches, breakfast, inspired pasta dishes, croque monsieur, open sandwiches, tortillas, sweet and fresh yogurts, energy drinks, coffee, natural juices and a variety of beverages. Today it is the absolute meeting point of the young people.
Objective
As part of the overall rebranding of the SPOON company, undertaken by our company, we proceeded with the redesign (Redesign – Relaunch) of its website as well. The overall concept was formed taking into account the company’s target audience, which is largely composed of young people aged 15 – 25 and to a lesser extent young people aged 25 – 40.
Challenge
The central idea was not to create and build again another classic restaurant ordering website, but a storytelling website. A website where the user is introduced to a pleasant graphical environment and is invited to slowly discover its ‘secrets’.
Solution
To achieve the above result, by visiting the webiste, we do not find in a prominent position large images of food or the catalog, but high quality illustrations which are related to the food categories available in the store and motivate the users to enter to discover more flavors.
The website wearespoon.gr was designed and built entirely from scratch (custom design), without relying on any pre-existing template, using wordpress cms (woocommerce). The development of the eshop was implemented following the trends of modern design so as to offer the visitor an easy and comprehensible browsing, combining it with the best possible display of the products and their information.
Unique Features
An innovation, when entering and browsing the website, is the timeline located to the right of the central image, which, depending on the time of day the user visits the page, affects the color of the background of our website, so as to give the feeling of time for morning, noon, afternoon and evening. Accordingly, for each period of the day, a different illustration appears as the central image.
